TREATMENT The recommended protocol for relief of TMJ arthraligia is (6) six treatment visits over a period of (2) two weeks. During each treatment visit, the patient receives (6) six treatment units per joint. A treatment unit is defined as 15-seconds of therapy resulting from one pull of the hand held applicator trigger. The 15-second treatment units are applied to the patient with 5-second pauses in-between. When administrating treatment, the handheld applicator is positioned one inch from the affected TMJ area and moved in a circular motion within the area.
